Eliana is getting to be such a big girl!! She had her 8 week appointment at the doctor this past Friday. Doctor was very pleased with her growth; she weighed 12 lbs, 10.5 oz, and was 23 inches long! This put her on the 90th% for weight for age, and 75th% for length for age. Poor girl had to get several shots, but she did so good! Only a little crying--we were so proud of her. Eliana has been holding her head up for even longer periods lately, and doing it pretty frequently. She kicks her legs so hard during tummy time; it looks as if she is going to turn over soon! She continues to become more interactive, and likes to say goo with mom, dad, and her animal friends. Smiling at mom and dad is happening more often too. Mom and Dad sure are enjoying that!

More of Uncle Mike's Visit

About to head out for a few errands, and then head over to 5 Guys Burgers for lunch

Church, and then out to Brunch with some of Mommy's friends. Ellie needed to meet Mommy's friend that was in town from Atlanta---she actually introduced Mommy and Daddy! Eliana slept through most of Brunch though...
 Hanging out with Uncle Mike
Playing in the Bouncy Chair. Eliana is liking this a lot more lately, though sometimes it does seem to make her cry, and we have to get out right away. She is swinging her arms hard these days, so unintentionally hits the animals that make noise and light up when they move. Very exciting!

Eliana's weekend activities

Here's a few video's put together showing what Eliana did this weekend. I've been gone for the past week so it was a lot of fun to come home and see how much she's changed (obviously this is John typing, as it wouldn't work very well for Wendy to leave for a week). She gained some weight (she's now 12lbs 5oz) and is 'talking' a lot more. Most of her sentences consist of her saying 'goo'. Her neck is also much stronger and she can hold her head up a little better. She also seems to be smiling more and is more interactive.

She's still pooping like there's no tomorrow. Last week at church during a quiet prayer she had a particularly loud poo that caused a couple people to turn and look (I think they figured out it wasn't me, but I can't be sure, she kind of threw me under the bus). I should save this post for Ellie, she'll love reading this when she's in high school.

Playing and Working Hard

Pics of Eliana when she was 5 and 6 weeks. She has been working on holding her head during tummy time, and her neck and back are getting stronger. She also seems to be concentrating more on objects and faces lately. Here she is looking at her octopus on her activity mat. Eliana is also quite fond of her jungle friends in her mobile, and has been enjoying them even more recently. They make her laugh and smile a lot.

Sunday morning smiles

Dad and Eliana got up early so Mom could get at least some sleep.  Not sure if these smiles are real yet, but they sure are cute.

Recent Happenings

Eliana headed out to run some errands with Mom and Dad. Ellie had her first trip to the grocery store. She was interested in all the sights, noises, and bright lights, but then decided to take a nap while Mom and Dad shopped. Eliana had her weekly weight before heading out, and she weighed 10 lbs, 4 oz! She has gained 3 lbs since her birth. Pretty good for four weeks!!
Dad and Ellie grab a quick nap before heading out to church. Ellie's poor little head...She is getting better at holding it up though!!
About to head to church, and Ellie still snoozing. Eliana was introduced to St. Anne's last Sunday. She squeaked and squirmed a little, but mainly slept through Mass. She even went longer than usual between feedings without fussing. Mom and Dad were so proud of our big girl! Mom did have to nurse her in the parking lot after church though:)

Above pics include Eliana playing on activity mat, and practicing holding her head up during tummy time. It is still a lot of work for her, but she did really well! Ellie has been holding her head for longer periods while she is being held, so we thought we would go ahead and try it on her tummy.

Miss Ellie turned 1 month this past Monday, February 28th, time is flying!!!

Here is Ellie and Grandma in the Nap Nanny that Grandma gave her. It was way too big for her when she first got it, but now she is fitting into it nicely!! Eliana is growing so much! Grandma came over this day to babysit while Mom got some stuff done around the house, and cooked dinner. Thanks Grandma:)
Above Eliana is sporting her Frenchie outfit from Jess and Wes. Thanks guys, I really like my cool outfit!

Last Friday was Eliana's 4 week birthday. Papa came over to babysit while Mom took a much needed nap, and took a shower. Papa also cooked a very nice meal of chicken things, mashed potatoes, and spinach for Mom and Dad to enjoy later that evening. How nice!!
